Steve Jobs's Impacts

I haven't been an Apple's fan for very long, close to 3 years? But the impact is much more than any other tech. Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, is one of the most successful leader in tech world. He is not just charismatic, but also a visionary. But we just lost such a great person.

Here's a quote from Steve Jobs at 2005:
No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Check out the actual video of him giving the speech:

Truly  amazing speech right? I can't held but to cry after watching. He is just so special. But I'm not the only person who was concern over his death.

This is UsingApple.com's traffic for the past few days:

Steve Jobs's death brought more traffic to my site than iPhone 4S's announcement. Steve Jobs is really the world's most famous and greatest CEO ever.

2 litres Pet bottle can be use as 50watt light bulb (in the day)

Solar Light with no cost

This is one of the most amazing solar powered hack I have ever seen. It only requires one 2 litres Pet Bottle, 10ml of Bleach, and a full bottle of clean, filtered water.

It will only be applicable if your house/garage is a single level, but this is the common style for people in 3rd world countries. This is changing life of people in many countries. Check out the video below:

When is China's Bubble bursting? China's Ghost Mall and City [Video]

After watching this clip, make me feel that Singapore might be going through some of the very familiar stuff, but our government really did handle stuff much better. Although things are getting more expensive, flats are costing more and more, but government tried to help but offering affordable loans, and long payment period.

For China, a flat cost almost as much as Singapore(I mean city area like Beijing), but their flats have to be fully paid in 3 years. Compare to Singapore 30 years loan period, it is really heaven and earth. What's your thoughts?

Exabytes My Best Webhost thus far

Its almost 1 year since I have switched to Exabytes.sg, and I have never looked back! If you guys have read my blog post previously, I was hosted on iPage for UsingApple.com, my Apple related Blog, which now have over 500 readers per day.

The main reason why I switched was because iPage couldn't handle the load, my site was down half of the time. I lost quite a bit of readers during that time, so I start searching for a new host. Stumbled upon Exabytes.sg and did some research, it have good reviews and decided to sign up for it.

Exabytes.sg are mostly at malaysia, so it is very near to Singapore where I live, thus the network speed I'm getting is very good, not only that, it helps me traffic with local readers abit. Till now, I haven't encounter any real issues with them, and the support are so responsive that I was totally impressed with.

Do check out them if you are looking for a good and reliable host.

Minister Farrakhan Interview - UFO is real [Video]

I have no idea how credible are the words of the Islamic Minister Louis Farrakhan, but he do make some sense. And I believe there are something out there which we don't know yet. So who knows what he will disclose to the world. Hopefully it will be some with evidence, which might force countries like USA and Russia to tell us what is happening.

HDR Newbie

Hi guys. It has been a long time since I have blog. Recently I'm very busy with work, especially when I came back from US Vacation. Works has been crazy, haven't been so busy for quite awhile... Learnt quite a few new things like Informatica Server Installation, Data Profiling from Informatica and Oracle DataWarehouse Administration.

Anyway back to what I wanna blog today. HDR and Photography. Yes, I have recently bought a DSLR - Canon 600D. DSLR is on my wishlist, so yup 1 strike off from it, a very painful one. Now I'm a very poor man. But what made me bite the bullet was my recent US Trip.

I always believe the saying "Money can't buy Memory", but what money can buy closest to "Memory" is Photographs & Video. Thus I bought my first ever DSLR Canon 600D. So for my trip to US, I brought along 600D and Panasonic HS200 Video Cam.
What can I say? I'm very busy in the trip, trying to balance when should I take video and when should I do photo. Anyway because camera is the newer one, so of course I will definitely be abit bias, thus took abit more photos than video.

Below are some of my HDR photo I took, HDR- High Dynamics Range Photos, I'm a newbie and learning. Please leave a comment so I can learn more about photography and HDR:

Thanks for viewing! :)

So, UFO really is among us.

Another update of UFO. During my secondary school days, I was addicted to reading Animorphs books from Applegate, still my favorite books series till now. Why? Because it is a series based on Aliens and Technology which I feel is highly possible. Although author of the series Applegate mentioned all are ficition, but it seems amaze me.

Anyway, check out the consolidated video from YouTube on all the UFO sighting for the past few years, it excites me, honestly because I always feel that aliens are real:

Cute Japanese Cooking Toy!

I'm not really into those cute stuff, but I came across this cute Japanese cooking toy that is pretty amazing! Not only you make them from scratch, the way that the "food" you make is pretty magical!

Please note that the "food" cannot be eaten! They are just toys that look very real!

Check out the video and you will be amazed by how Japanese is so perfectionist!

Oh ya! The cooking sound is made by chemical reaction, the food is not really cooking and it is not warm too.

The below video of Japanese Food Toy are all eligible, they are all kind of jelly with flavor! Quite cool har?

Creative and Nicely Shot Film

I'm always interested in film making, ok, people who knows me will say I'm always interested in everything. But film making is really one of them. I'm never good in it, never really spent much time on it too. Nevertheless below are one of the few short films that I think are nicely done and very creative.

These few film were shot by Exkild from Norway, he's pretty good in directing and acting. Yes he directs and acts in all his films.

Check them out, and I hope one day I will also produce films like this :) :

Part two of Black Ops

He's kind of the lead actor in the film below, not sure if he did any directing:

Growth and Progress

I haven't been a blogger for very long... To be exact, close to 1.5 years... UsingApple.com's first blog post is on November 2009. I was never a Apple Fan boy, nor do I use any Apple product. Thanks to my girlfriend and parents who bought me an iPhone 3G for my birthday 2 years ago and turned me into one.

I bought my Macbook Pro on June of 2009 and there it drove me to create UsingApple blog sharing Apple related news, tips and tricks on it.

Below is the progress of my Apple Blog for the last 20 days... Better impressive from my own point of view... I remember those were the days when my blog only have 1-2 views and I finally got a average of 300-400 unique per day.

Thanks everyone... I will continue to blog more...Haha!

It is just a bright white light, but look at the SPEED is can burst up into the sky in like less than a second! We are not sure if the video is real or fake, but with the crowds reactions in the video, and video taken by 2 different groups with different angle...

Check out the UFO Video:

Motorola Atrix - your phone, your laptop, your everything!

Quite a cool idea, that you can dock your phone and be using it like a desktop... Although it should have quite a few issues as it is the first generation of it. But the idea itself is cool, as you can actually use 1 device throughout, files and contacts don't really need to be sync from phone, to your laptop to your desktop to your phone again. Haha!

Here is hands on video on Atrix, it is already working, will be release by the first quarter of 2011:

It is quite cool right, but I think the media center dock is quite "stupid". If I have AirPlay like iPhone, I don't really need to dock my phone to play my videos on phone. What is worse is you will have to run to your phone if you get a phone call or text message? If I'm doing AirPlay I can just answer it... anywhere in the house.

Nevertheless Atrix seems like a quick glance to the future of what we will be having. Dummy Terminals like the laptop dock, and we just need to bring around our smartphones. Motorola, please add a video cam on your laptop dock, else how do you do video calls?

I kid you not, try playing the video, and you will be stuck infront of your monitor for the next 9mins. It is really interesting how Bollywood actually look at Robots and the Future Technologies! Haha. Bollywood rocks man!

It is not the whole movie, but part of it, I think the more interesting part.

Wishlist for 2011!

This is my first ever wishlist, I was never really into blogging previously. I started blogging just late 2009, started UsingApple.com as a hobby blog for Apple products as I got in love with Apple. Of course, i gotten the hang of blogging, and started tobiascai.com as my personal blog, blogging on tech stuff that aren't really related to Apple and my life.

So now let's list down my wishlist for 2011!

1. NAS - I need it, this is one my confirm buy list, as I really need more space, so NAS should be the way to go, less cables.

2. iPhone 5 - No doubt about it, iPhone 5 will be in my list, so will iPhone 6 the next year.

3. Entry Level DSLR - I love my HD Video Cam given to me from my girlfriend, video is really the only way to help you remember those happy moments during tours and events. But taking good photos is an art. I wants to learn how to take good picture, thus entry level DSLR is what I want for 2011 too!

4. Airport Extreme Base Station - My linksys router served me for almost 8 years... still going strong, but I want an Airport!

5. Macbook Air 11inch - I think it is a wonder, a very cool and thin laptop, which I think is the way all laptop should be.

6. Mac Mini Server - Always wanted to test out Snow Leopard Server OS, of course if Lion Server will be on Mac Mini Server, I will prefer it! :X

7. iPad 2 - I have blogged about why I don't want to buy iPad, but after almost 1 yr, I still don't see any tablet as good as iPad, maybe iPad 2 will have features that make me change my mind about buying iPad?

8. iMac 27inch  - iMac have the nicest screen I have ever seen, large screen is always cool, but I think the next refresh will be the one that I will buy even more. Hopefully SSD will be cheaper and I think SSD as primary HDD is the way to go for desktop too!

Haha, this my list of wishlist, they are numbered, according what I feel I need it most. Although all of the above is what I want, but what I need is actually just NAS. The rest are really just plain wishlist. My Macbook Pro 13" is serving me like a king, just that I'm running out of HDD, thus NAS is cool.

What's your wishlist for 2011? How different is it to mine? Leave a me a comment. if you are feeling rich, and wish to give me any items on my wishlist, please feel very free to contact me! Haha!
